The 2024 World Vocational and Technical Education Development Conference opened in Tianjin today (21st), attracting over 600foreign participants from 77 countries and regions, along with more than 500 domestic delegates.With the theme of"Innovation Empowers the Future, Skills Shape Lives," the conference features opening ceremony, keynotereports, ministerial roundtable meeting, parallel sessions, andother links.The delegates discussed and adopted the"Tianjin Consensus on World Vocational Education Development." Concurrently, six parallel sessions will be held, including the integration of industry andeducation to promote high-qualitydevelopment ofvocational education andtheglobal strategies and practice of thecultivation of highly skilled talents, to further consolidatetheconsensus on vocational education developmentin various countries and explore new modes of international exchange and cooperation in this field. During the conference, several initiatives will be launched, including the establishment of the World Vocational and Technical Education Development Alliance, the presentation of the World Vocational Education Award, the championship finals of the World Vocational College Skills Competition, a specialized exhibition on vocational education, and the creation of an international journal on vocational education. In terms of international cooperation, China hasnowestablished over 30"Luban Workshops" across Asia, Europe, and Africa, providing vocational training to over 30,000students. It has also carried out key vocational education cooperation projects such as the"China-ASEAN Vocational Education Federation" and the"Future Africa Vocational Education Cooperation" initiative with countries and regions in Africa, Central Asia, Southeast Asia, and Europe. The regionalvocational education cooperation mechanism is constantly improved.(吴一凡)
